Danielle Staub's Latest Engagement Means She'll Soon Add Duchess to Résumé (You Read That Correctly)
The RHONJ pal is set to walk down the aisle with Oliver Maier — and become royalty.
Lucky No. 21! Danielle Staub confirmed on Friday (March 1) that she is engaged for the 21st time to Oliver Maier, with whom she went Instagram official earlier this week during a trip to St. Barth's. The pair was engaged by Thursday, February 28. “I’m feeling elated and excited for the next stage of my life," The Real Housewives of New Jersey pal told PEOPLE. "I’m going to marry the man of my possible dreams and hopefully I’ll spend the rest of my life in bliss.”
And Danielle and Oliver aren't waiting long to kick off "the rest of my life" — they plan to wed on Monday, March 4 in New York City, Teresa Giudice will reportedly be by her friend's side for the event. And with the title of Mrs. Maier, Danielle will also gain the title of duchess, according to PEOPLE.
Why is that, you ask? Well, Oliver, who is German and French, is the Duke of Provence, so when they say "I do," Danielle will take on the title of duchess. She told the publication that she didn't learn of his royal background until recently. (Side note: his family owns two, yes two, castles, and 15 vineyards in the South of France, so... normal.)
The news of Danielle's engagement comes about a week after her divorce from Marty Caffrey was finalized on February 21. “This has been a difficult road for Danielle, but she is glad everything is finalized and she can now move forward to the next chapter of her life,” Danielle's rep said in a statement to The Daily Dish at the time.
Shortly after she finalized her split from Marty, she offered up some insight into why she never formally took his name to TMZ: "I never took his name for a reason because who wants to be called Caffrey? Staub is my name — don't forget it."
Looks like not for much longer. We guess we're going to have to get used to saying Duchess Danielle.
