Tyra Banks Reveals She Had a Nose Job: "I Have a Responsibility to Tell the Truth"
She got her nose done for this surprising reason.
Erika Girardi isn't the only celeb to recently reveal she went under the knife to tweak her features. Supermodel and America's Next Top Model host Tyra Banks is opening up about a cosmetic procedure she had back when her modeling career was just getting started.
Banks revealed to People magazine that she got a nose job years ago and there's a specific reason behind it. “I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching,” she told the magazine. “I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery. I admit it! Fake hair, and I did my nose. I feel I have a responsibility to tell the truth.”
What brought on this revelation? Banks and her mom just wrote a book about their journey in the fashion industry called Perfect is Boring, which is out next week. She's clearly in a reflective mood, and she says she wants women to feel that they can make their own decisions about their looks — without being judged by others.
“Fix it or flaunt it — I think women should be able to do both,” she told People. “There is a boundary line, either you’re super natural or you live at the plastic surgeon. It’s okay to hop back and forth over that line. You want a hair weave? Fine. You want permanent eyebrows? Fine. We as women need to stop judging.”
