You Will Barely Recognize Blake Lively With This Short, Dark Hairstyle

Blake Lively is as synonymous with long, blonde hair as she is with star we'd like to be besties with. (Just us?) So, when the actress shared a snap from the set of her latest flick, we were a bit taken aback — in the best possible way, of course. Who doesn't love a celebrity hair transformation?

For her role in The Rhythm Section, which hits theaters in 2019, Lively traded in her signature style for a chop that's shorter and darker than we've ever seen the actress' hair. Take a peek at a photo from the set, below: 

It's quite a change from the Blake we've come to know, right? And, we're not complaining. We are digging the dark, edgy new look on the mom of two. In fact, it kind of brings rocker Patty Smith's short-hair phase to mind.

And, the dark hue matches the moody subject matter of the film: the movie is about a woman who seeks revenge on people who orchestrated a plane crash that killed her family. Yeesh!

Even though we're loving the actress' new look, that doesn't mean that husband Ryan Reynolds hasn't taken a playful swipe at it on social media. (Come on, you know him better than that!) In a recent Instagram post, the actor showed off a photo of his wife on the set of the Reed Morano film, wearing an outfit that's quite a departure from Blake's typical sleek style. In the caption, Reynolds hilariously wrote: "#nofilter."
