Markie Scalia, one of the cutest toddlers the world has ever seen, brings us continual joy. Her proud mama, Lauren Manzo Scalia, and her grandmother Caroline Manzo, can't help but post frequent photos of the adorable tot — and our social media feed is all the more smile-inducing for it. But in her most recent Instagram post regarding her daughter, Lauren was feeling a little sniffly. 

On the September 9 post, the New Jersey mom wrote: "1st day of school tomorrow and I'm a mess." She added, "Markie's first school lunch," with a bawling emoji to cap off the emotional mood. 

Well, at least the lunch was cheerful! For her first day of school, little miss Markie brought along a bright pink lunchbox filled with macaroni and cheese, goldfish crackers, strawberries, and cookies. Take a peek:
