How to Watch

Watch Married to Medicine Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo and streaming on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Anila Sajja may be new to the glamorous world of reality TV, but the mom of two is a seasoned pro when it comes to all things fashion. The Married to Medicine rookie recently sat down with BravoTV.com to dish on her signature style and her fashion career, including her successful blog, Peplum & Bubblegum

Anila’s fashion roots run deep. “I remember growing up playing dress up with my sister and my friends,” she recalled to BravoTV.com. Later she worked in retail, eventually making her way into the fashion and cosmetic industry. "I made myself move to New York City because that's the capital of fashion... Even though I was doing global forecasting, I was at least around [fashion]. I was surrounded by it, so I loved that," she shared.

After getting married and having kids, Anila was ready for a change, which led her to the world of blogging. “I’m not shy around the camera,” she noted. "I just started doing [blogging] for fun, initially.” As time went on, her audience "got bigger and bigger," and it "slowly started turning into a business."

Now, with over 65K Instagram followers, Anila puts her signature “colorful” style on display in glamorous photo shoots. She draws inspiration from influencers and celebrities like Camila Coelho, Olivia Culpo, and the Kardashians. She gravitates towards pieces from Revolve, ZARA, Topshop, Lovers + Friends, Retrofit, Alice + Olivia, and All Saints (often in her signature hue, which is pink). Of course, she has some high-end favorites like Chanel and Gucci as well.

“I'm very true to like what I like,” Anila explained. “There's lots of brands that will reach out to me and want me to blog their stuff, but [in order for me to post the look,] it has to be something that I love.”

She continued, “I will also only wear things that look right for my body type… I really do tailor towards the moms that are out there in their thirties and forties and that want to look fashionable and trendy.  That is my niche… So I try to look for day-to-day wear, joggers, things that the moms like to wear when they're out with their kids. And then I like to get things that are fun to wear on date nights with their husbands or a girl's night out.”

Anila's blog has also provided her with a space to celebrate her heritage, as she often accessorizes her looks with “gorgeous” Indian jewelry. “I love adding that into my blog just to show my culture and what I’m about and where I’m from,” she shared. “It’s beautiful.”

Of course, her rookie season of Married to Medicine thrust her onto an even bigger stage — but Anila has stayed true to herself. “Being on the show really hasn't impacted my style,” she noted. “You can see from the episodes that I've always brought my own style to every situation and event.”

The biggest event of them all: the reunion, which recently taped. As promised, Anila’s look brought all of her signature flair. She donned a feather and tulle Monsoori gown in her favorite pink and added “a little Indian touch” with sparkling hair jewelry by Frontier Heritage. According to Anila, “it came together beautifully.”
