Inside David Parnes' Adorable Daily Routine with His Daughter India
The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles broker is hilariously showing his 2-year-old the basics of business.
As David Parnes has been adapting to working from home amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles broker is getting some help from his adorable new "coworker": his 2-year-old daughter, India.
As seen in the video above, the first order of business for the father-daughter duo was getting dressed. When India emerged wearing sweatpants, a sweater, and a hat, David joked that the getup "might be a bit casual" for the listing meetings they had scheduled for the day. After the exhaustion of multiple outfit changes, the toddler settled in next to her dad for her first nap of the day.
The rest of their day was filled with note taking (although India's were a bit more abstract than her father's), meeting prep, and an attempted second nap from India. After their long day of hard work, the two took a seat at India's tiny table for an adorable celebratory tea party.
When she's not assisting her dad with selling his listings, the little one has been enjoying time in the family's backyard pool. "We’ve been taking India swimming every day," David told BravoTV.com exclusively in a separate interview. "She goes, 'Pool! Pool!' She loves it."
David is getting in his own outdoor fun as well. "I have never barbecued more in my life," he said. "My friend bought me a Big Green Egg for my birthday and I’ve literally been using it every day, sometimes twice per day."
Aside from plenty of outdoor grilling, David has also been looking to expand his skillset in the kitchen. "I’m cooking so much now," he said. "My wife [Adrian] has always cooked, [but] I’ve never really done that much before. I'm cooking all these dishes that I never would have even taken on before."
One of those meals includes what David describes as "Chinese-style chicken wings." Although he noted the dishes he's cooking are "much more difficult do to" than he might have previously chosen to attempt, he happily admitted: "It’s really fun."
Another form of fun while homebound, David says, has been celebrating his, Adrian's, and India's birthdays, all of which fall between March and May. "Obviously we miss a lot of our friends and family that we’re not able to see right now, but to spend that time at home together and celebrate each other, hang out and be together, we’ll never forget that," he said. "There’s always decorations, balloons, we’re baking our own cakes. I think these moments are really, really incredible when you look in retrospect. You have amazing opportunities to spend time together as a family."
As he continues balancing his work life with plenty of time at home, David is just trying to be "as regimented as possible." While each day is slightly different, there are a few things he always prioritizes accomplishing before heading to bed. "I’m just very wary of being productive," he noted. "Barbecuing, cooking, trying to get my exercise in, staying on schedule, staying routine, staying productive and spending time with the fam: I think that pretty much sums up my day- to-day."
