By recently waiving their right to separate counsel, Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli have been presenting a united front in court in the Varsity Blues scandal. But as they face a potential 40 years in prison, sources are suggesting that the ordeal is putting their marriage to the test.

“Their daughter Bella is extremely concerned they’re going to get divorced,” an "insider" told Us Weekly, pointing to a recent argument about whether they should fly private to Los Angeles.

“The couple was advised by their lawyers not to, but Mossimo insisted, saying it would be a ‘zoo’ if they flew commercial.”

She's also reportedly pissed that her husband didn't want to take a plea deal: “Lori was inclined to take the deal, but Mossimo said it would ruin both of their careers.”

Another source, who insisted on anonymity, said, “Her friends think she should leave him. But Lori refuses and says the ordeal has made them stronger.”

As the court case continues on, lawyers examining the couple's case from the outside are somewhat marveling at their approach to denying that they committed fraud and money laundering in order to get their two daughters into USC.

“The two, pretty much from the outset, have gone out of their way to buck the 'normal way of doing things,' first from not pleading guilty when so many others have, to now attempting to share the same attorney.  This is a calculated risk few defendants facing serious federal crimes are willing to take,” San Diego criminal attorney David P. Shapiro told Personal Space.
