Waves can be a little complicated, and achieving the right ripple effect takes skill. We at The Lookbook have been on the hunt for the best technique to achieve glam, '70s-inspired waves for quite some time now —and we’ve hit the jackpot.

How to Watch

Watch Project Runway on the Bravo App and on Peacock

Below, hairstylist Justine Marjan shows us how to create a more simplistic and modern version of the ‘70s-inspired curls we recently saw on Bravo’s Project Runway catwalk. The result: soft, touchable waves that give off a glam yet laid-back vibe.

Follow the fail-proof steps below to achieve this look.

First, refresh hair with TRESemmé Volumizing Dry Shampoo.

Glam '70s Waves

Using a one-inch curling iron, curl hair vertically away from the face.

Gently go over the waves with a flat iron for a more relaxed curl pattern.

Project Runway '70s Waves

Use an oval brush to lightly tease the waves for added body.

Lastly, spray TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hair Spray Boost Hold Level 3 all over to ensure your '70s-inspired waves remain fabulous all day long.
