Jhoan "Sebastian" Grey Nails His First New York Fashion Week Presentation
The Project Runway Season 17 winner's incredible runway show featured luxurious quilted silk dresses, tailored blazers, patterned knitwear, and a Bravoleb-filled audience.
Bravo's Project Runway Season 17 winner Jhoan "Sebastian" Grey recently reached a major (we mean major!) milestone in his career: The fashion designer presented his first New York Fashion Week collection on February 10th at The Runways — and it truly was a night to remember.
With a color scheme of teal, orange, yellow, and pink hues, Sebastian's Fall/Winter 2020 collection titled “Lineage” paid homage to his Colombian heritage roots and his admiration for the vibrant colors of the land. There were luxurious cut-out dresses, tailored blazers with exaggerated shoulder pads, and knit sweaters all crafted with Sebastian's signature quilted silks and hand-woven leather. The innovative designs were showcased by a diverse cast of models including Project Runway model Mimi Tao, who worked with Sebastian in Season 17.
Sebastian's show also had a special philanthropic message behind it: The show was funded by the Fashion for a Cause Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps emerging designers create and showcase their collections.
The spectacle was also very much a Bravo family affair. Karlie Kloss, Brandon Maxwell, Nina Garcia, Elaine Welteroth, and Christian Siriano were all there front and center to support Sebastian. In fact, Christian even Sebastian prepare for the big moment at his Florida studio in the two weeks before his show.
The Real Housewives of New York City's Dorinda Medley also attended the presentation. "What a beautiful show and incredible cause!" she shared on Instagram.
We are SO proud of you, Sebastian!
