Tom Sandoval's Ex-Assistant Ann Maddox Responds to His "Betrayal" Comments
The Vanderpump Rules cast member said he felt betrayed by Ann after she quit and took a job with his ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix.
When it came to her 2023 career pivot, Ann Maddox was in full carpe diem mode.
The Florida native was introduced to Bravo fans in Vanderpump Rules Season 11 when she was working as Tom Sandoval’s personal assistant. Ann previously admitted that the job became increasingly “stressful” as she also served as a go-between for Tom and his ex-girlfriend/housemate, Ariana Madix. As the season drama played out, Ann jumped at the opportunity to quit Tom Sandoval Inc. and interviewed to be Ariana’s new assistant — a move that effectively ended her working relationship with Tom.

Although Ann wasn’t hired as Ariana’s assistant, she did land a job at Ariana and Katie Maloney’s new sandwich shop, Something About Her. Tom said the decision was "a huge conflict of interest" and felt “like a betrayal”; however, Ann told Us Weekly she wouldn't have done anything differently.
“I feel really bad, dude. I’m so sorry,” she said about Tom’s reaction. “But I saw an opportunity to work for a lovely, amazing woman — and life is short — and I wanted this opportunity… No hate. Love.”

Ann Maddox reflects her reunion with Tom Sandoval
Ann reunited with Tom during Part 3 of the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 reunion, when she presented the cast with Something About Her sandwiches. Ann, who began working for Tom in late 2020, said she was concerned her former boss would give her the cold shoulder but was comforted after he cracked a joke about the sandwiches.
“I definitely was like, ‘Oh my god, he’s talking to me.’ So that was good,” she said with a laugh. “It relieved any tension. You see your old boss walking up to you and your new boss who you love is right next to you and you’re like, ‘Oh god, what’s about to happen?’ And then they’re like, it’s a friendly joke, and you’re like, ‘Oh, thank god.’”

Ann told E! News she was “so freaking stoked” about her position at Something About Her, which finally opened its doors on May 22. She confirmed she would work in “guest relations,” as Ariana and Katie were quite impressed with her communication skills. The business partners and former SUR employees touched on Ann’s hiring on the Vanderpump Rules After Show, explaining why Ann was such a strong asset.
“Something [Ann] had said she wanted in a job before was to be someone who contributed creatively and somebody who had upward mobility — things like that — and that’s definitely something that we have,” Ariana said. “She also said she really wanted to work with women.”
“I already think she’s a great addition,” Katie added. “Just her presence and enthusiasm and everything.”
