Kandi Burruss Reveals Where Husband Todd Tucker and Mama Joyce Stand Today

Aside from those "lemon" comments a couple of seasons ago, Mama Joyce and Todd Tucker seemed to have been getting along swimmingly following their rocky start. But by the end of Season 12 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, any relationship that Mama Joyce and Todd had built up seemed to be falling apart.

Mama Joyce did not attend Todd and Kandi Burruss' baby shower in the Season 12 finale after the RHOA husband failed to say hello to his wife and mother-in-law when he ran into them at a restaurant earlier that day. The conflict between Mama Joyce and Todd even caused some tension between him and Kandi during the baby shower.

Kandi opened up more about Mama Joyce and Todd's drama during The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12 After Show, which you can view, above. She explained that while she and Mama Joyce were out at a restaurant for breakfast, one of Todd and Kandi's friends came over to say hello to them. That's when Kandi and Mama Joyce realized that Todd was also at the restaurant. However, he never came over to their table or said anything to them the whole time they were at the eatery. 

"Todd did pay for our food, but he walked out. So he felt like, 'Well, at least I paid for y'all food.' So he walks out, and then we walked out kind of right behind him, but he never did turn around to say hello to her or acknowledge her at all," Kandi recalled. "So [Mama Joyce] was pissed, to say the least."

Kandi said that Todd was upset with Mama Joyce after he heard that she implied to Kandi that she needs to be careful with her money around her husband. "So when he knew we were going to breakfast together and he was coming by the same spot, he was just planning to avoid talking to my mother," Kandi shared. "But if she knows you're around and you don't even acknowledge her, that is just disrespectful."

So, Mama Joyce decided not to attend the baby shower so as to avoid any potential conflict with Todd and ruin the party. "She was mad at him, and she said if she would have come to the shower, she would have cussed him out and made a scene," Kandi said. "I was very disappointed that she didn't come, but at the same time, I didn't really want her to come and show out at the baby shower."

This strain on Mama Joyce and Todd's relationship continued until the couple's daughter Blaze was born in November 2019. "But luckily for us, after Blaze was born, my mom totally changed. Blaze being born has like healed our family in such a way. Prior to Blaze being born, they weren't speaking at all, and my mom wasn't even coming over my house," Kandi said. "Now my mom comes over often. Her and Todd talk and laugh together now. So it's been a blessing."
