Captain Sandy Yawn found herself giving Camille Lamb an ultimatum on the latest episode of Below Deck, and while the deck/stew agreed it was “fair” in the moment, she later broke down crying and referred to the captain as “Sandy Sue Sue” behind her back.

Wanting Captain Sandy’s thoughts on the nickname, Andy Cohen asked her the following question during the January 9 episode of Watch What Happens Live: “Captain Lee’s catchphrase is ‘I’ve got a pocket full of plane tickets that I have no problem handing out’ — something Sandy might be saying to Camille soon, especially after she called her ‘Sandy Sue Sue’ tonight. What was your reaction to that?” 

“Lack of respect,” Captain Sandy responded, going on to discuss the Camille drama again when a WWHL fan asked if she regretted giving Camille another chance even though there was still tension between her and Alissa Humber. “Honestly, I didn’t know about the tension,” Captain Sandy said. “It was my first charter, so you gotta at least get through one charter before you start firing people.”

As Below Deck fans are surely aware, Captain Sandy is currently filling in for Captain Lee, who had to temporarily depart St. David due to health issues. He’s set to return later this season, but that didn’t make it any easier for him to leave. Delivering a heartfelt goodbye to his crew on a December episode, Captain Lee said, “As you know, I’ve been struggling with my mobility. So I made a decision to leave the boat. My mind’s there, my heart’s there, my body just won’t cooperate. I’ve never quit… [but] this time I have to.”

He later praised Captain Sandy for stepping in at the last minute, telling People, “That’s a very difficult situation that I put her in. You’re taking over somebody else’s boat and somebody else’s crew. That’s hard enough as it is — now add on top of it the fact that you’re also filming a TV show… I recognize how hard that is.”

“The fact that she was willing to jump in; that she sucked it up and came on board and did what I asked her to do? I owe her big time for that,” he added. “For her to step forward and take it on says a lot about her.”
