Fraser Olender Reflects on the “Childish” Drama Between Camille and Alissa

Here’s how the chief stew feels about the drama on his team during Season 10 of Below Deck.

By Jocelyn Vena

While Season 10 of Below Deck featured some stormy emotional territory with several low- and high-tide moments, there was one working relationship aboard St. David that never seemed to settle. Stew Alissa Humber and deck/stew Camille Lamb found themselves deep in conflict during their time working for chief stew Fraser Olender on the charter season.

While (spoiler alert!) both Alissa and Camille were fired, in a conversation with fans during a BravoTV.com Q&A during the season, Fraser reflected on what it felt like to be in the middle of their drama. “When it comes to Camille and Alissa, first and foremost, our priorities were to get our job done and for the guests to experience an amazing time on board. A lot of their fighting was personal and a bit ridiculous, and to me, it wasn’t worth hashing it out when we had so many other more important things to do,” he shared in the chat with fans in January. “I saw the fighting as quite childish.”

At the end of the day, he noted that he didn’t believe either yachtie was in the right in their behavior. “I think they definitely were both at fault. They just didn’t like each other,” he said. “And they knew how to get under each other’s skin.”

In reflecting on his experience working with both crew members, he said he “would work with Alissa” again, while the same can’t be said of Camille. “Camille was very difficult to work with. I like her as a person and she’s a very funny girl, but we’re just not compatible work colleagues,” he said. “Great party animal, though.”

In case you were wondering, Fraser did confirm that he keeps in touch with one of the two stews. “Yes, Camille and I speak from time to time. I really like her as a person,” he said. “But I won’t be calling her back to any boats I work on in the future… or any work in any way, shape, or form [laughs].”

ICYMI: The Below Deck Season 10 finale aired on March 20 and Camille was once again a hot topic. Check out why in the video below:
