Dani Soares Opens Up About Losing Her Soul Mate Prior to the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Charter Season

Dani Soares Opens Up About a Devastating Loss

The months before Dani Soares traveled to Croatia for the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 charter season were incredibly difficult for the stew. Dani recently opened up on Instagram about the hardships she faced prior to filming this season of the show.

In a May 21 Instagram post, which featured a photo of Dani and deckhand Sydney Zaruba from this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Dani shared what she had been going through before she joined the Parsifal III crew. "From April 2020 till we started filming it was the worst period of my life. In April I lost my soulmate, I had actually moved back to Brazil and we shared a house, but life only gave us 5 months together," Dani shared. "Going into the season and filming Below Deck was my distraction from reality, it was me pretending everything was great and all the bad things were just a nightmare."

Dani ended her post by thanking the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew for being there for her during this tough time in her life. "I'm very thankful for last summer and for the amazing crew, you guys literally made summer 2020 the best one yet," she shared. "Miss and love you all."

Dani previously opened up about her loss earlier this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, sharing with Sydney that her best friend had been a police officer, and they first met 14 years ago when they were 18. "I always thought we were gonna end up together," she said. "I always thought he was the person I was gonna live forever with."

She added that she would be honoring her best friend's memory by living life to the fullest. "I can't just live this life without doing the best I can," Dani shared.

After expressing a desire to start a new chapter in her life this season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Dani is doing just that. She announced in April that she is expecting her first child, later confirming that she would be welcoming a baby girl.

Now in her "final weeks of pregnancy," Dani recently expressed gratitude for the "village" around her as she makes a new life for herself in Sydney, Australia.
