The original story continues below.

Emily Warburton-Adams' father has been diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer, she shared on Instagram last week.

The Below Deck Season 4 stew shared the sad news in a post on Instagram published on November 21. "I didn’t think that I would ever have to do something as heartwrenching as this, especially for my own daddy. The man [whose] been my rock since day one, supporting me through thick and thin and inspiring me to aim higher than I ever thought possible has stage 4 colorectal cancer," she wrote. "When we heard the news 3 months ago, I felt like everything dissolved into insignificance around me. Life was immediately viewed from a different perspective. Not knowing how to respond to the information, and everything being so fresh I haven’t wanted or known how to share the news."

Emily shared that her father was diagnosed with cancer after he was rushed to the hospital during a business trip in Malaysia in August. "It had spread through his Lymph nodes to his liver, lungs, bones and to shadow the brain," she said. "I know that many may be able to relate to the pain of a parent or family member having cancer and the importance of being with them to support them as much as possible."

Emily's father immediately started chemotherapy in Malaysia, and the doctors told him he couldn't fly home to the U.K. until he was strong enough to make the journey. She and her family flew out to Malaysia in August, and Emily flew back to be by his side last weekend. He has unfortunately been unable to return to the U.K. because of the loss of his legs due to cancer in his muscles and calf bones and the need for 24/7 care.

Emily's father has encountered immense healthcare costs due to his hospitalization in Malaysia, treatment, and surgeries, in addition to the high cost of flying him back to the U.K. So Emily has set up a JustGiving page with her sister, Isabella, and brother, Max, to raise funds in an effort to bring their father home by Christmas and continue his care. "The flight he needs due to the medical circumstances costs a tearful amount but we want to do all we can go fly him home to be with his friends and family," Emily shared on Instagram. "I feel incredibly lucky to have this supportive platform and from me, my sister and little brother we would be beyond grateful for any donation or sharing, small or large."

So far, Emily and her family have raised £19,539 (about $24,881) of their £80,000 (about $101,872) goal, as of the time of this writing. They will donate any excess funds to a colorectal cancer research charity.

Emily expressed her gratitude to all of her supporters in another emotional post on Instagram last weekend. "I’ve found everyone reaching out with a relevant story or any insight incredibly touching and my heart goes out to anyone going through a difficult time in whatever capacity, we’re all living stories others know nothing about," she shared.

Emily has received a lot of love from her Below Deck family during this difficult time, including Captain Lee Rosbach, Ben Robinson, Josiah CarterKelley Johnson, and Tiffany Copeland.
