Captain Kerry Titheradge Opens Up About Coming "Full Circle" in Below Deck Season 11
ICYMI, Below Deck Season 11 will feature Captain Kerry at the helm and he shared what he's looking forward to during BravoCon 2023.
All Aboard! It is almost time to sail into Season 11 of Below Deck when it premieres in February 2024. During BravoCon 2023, it was announced a new captain will lead the crew aboard the ship in the upcoming new season. But who exactly is Captain Kerry Titheradge?
Captain Kerry Opens up Joining Below Deck Season 11
Captain Kerry is crossing over from Below Deck Adventure to helm the mega yacht St. David on Below Deck Season 11. He was born in Brisbane and traveled most of his life and going to school in Emerald, Longreach, Budreim, Capella, and Townsville. And now he's ready to set sail in the Caribbean.
“I cruised the Caribbean most of my career. For me, taking over Below Deck the original is full circle,” Captain Kerry said during BravoCon. Kerry previously led the team in Norway and now he's heading off to the Caribbean in Season 11 of Below Deck. “It’s not as cold, that’s for sure,” Captain Kerry added.
When he is not on a boat, he is reaching out to his loved ones. "First on my list is to video chat with my kids and Gönül, and of course our husky Benny! Next is to practice Turkish and take self-development courses."
He also stays active by taking part in extreme action sports like snowboarding, motorbiking, paragliding, and flying lessons.
Captain Kerry’s Biggest Challenge in Below Deck Season 11
Captain Kerry also noted the big difference in terms of his experiences between Below Deck Adventure and Below Deck, is maybe not what you'd expect: “With Adventure, the most challenging part was trying to find a place to anchor. It is thousands of feet deep, so when you can anchor, it’s 180 feet deep, and there’s not any rocks to dig into. With the Caribbean, there’s lots of rocks and lots of wind,” Captain Kerry shared.
Described as "a disciplined and fair leader" in a press release, Captain Kerry said during BravoCon that he is ready to embrace taking on Below Deck.
Teasing what's to come during an interview panel, Captain Kerry added, "There’s some moments on there where I go, ‘Holy Sh-t! I had no clue.”
