As she prepares to tie the knot with her longtime partner, Leah Shafer, the Below Deck Mediterranean boss shared more details about the big day and whether any of her castmates would get an invite.

“We have a friend that’s building a big boat… She’s hosting [the wedding] on her new yacht,” Captain Sandy told Us Weekly about her good friend Carolyn Aronson, founder of It’s a 10 Haircare. “[It] is going to be an insane, massive super yacht… The problem is we can only have 55 people. So it’s hard when you have to tell people they can’t come. It is so difficult.”

Captain Sandy has yet to complete her wedding guest list

Captain Sandy admitted she and Leah were still working on the guest list and have made “hard” decisions about who would and wouldn’t get an invitation. She said the process was especially difficult for someone like her, as she's developed close bonds and relationships with many people all around the world.

“You want your intimates there, so you want your friends who have been in your life a long time,” the captain explained. “I travel a lot, so I develop friends everywhere. We are still working on the list.”

Will any yachties get an invite to Captain Sandy's wedding?

So, does Sandy plan to invite any of her Below Deck Med castmates to her wedding? Although she didn’t provide any names, she confirmed “there will be some Bravolebrities" in attendance.

Captain Sandy said Below Deck Med’s Chef Dave White will be involved in the celebration, as he was hired to prepare the food. She also addressed previous reports that Malia White was originally tapped to officiate the ceremony, but was eventually replaced.

Malia shared the information during an Us Weekly interview last year, claiming someone had “stole [her] spot.” While the decision was, no doubt, disappointing for the bosun, she made it clear there were no hard feelings toward the happy couple and she had every intention to celebrate their nuptials.

Who will officiate Captain Sandy and Leah Shafer's wedding?

“[I’m] definitely going to the wedding,” Malia told the outlet. “Captain Sandy’s always been a mentor and she continues to be and Leah is amazing. We see them quite often, actually.”

So, who is officiating the wedding? Turns out it’s someone who has strong ties to Below Deck Med. And, no, it’s not one of the on-screen talents.

“Our show runner, who’s been in my life for eight years, is Nadine Rajabi,” Captain Sandy said. “[Nadine] is the person who’s going to officiate our wedding.”
