Gina Kirschenheiter Spills Secrets About Her Ex Matt Kirschenheiter

Gina Kirschenheiter's soon-to-be-ex-husband Matt Kirschenheiter may not appear this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County due to his work, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been keeping up with all of Season 13's buzzy moments.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

However, Matt required some convincing to tune into RHOC. "I think he was so scared to even see what was happening there and then I think my sister-in-law, she's obviously one of my No.1 supporters, and then my brother-in-law is like a secret fan," Gina told The Daily Dish during an interview in New York City last month. "So I think they kind of were telling him like, 'No, you have to watch it. It's fine. It's all good.'"

Now that Matt watches the show, he's been showing Gina support throughout some of her tougher times on RHOC. "He'll [send] me text messages. He checked in with me when I was sad on the show and stuff because he doesn't know, he obviously wasn't there for that. He felt bad. He was like, 'I feel so bad that you had to go through that and everybody has to see that.' Or he'll give me a little text and go, 'You know, you definitely didn't say that. I know you didn't say that,'" Gina said, referring to some of her fellow OC Housewives' claims this season. "He's supportive or whatever. But it's weird for him! I don't know, it's weird for both of us."

Gina said that it has been especially difficult for Matt to watch her go through the more intense moments, like the drama over Emily Simpson's husband, Shane Simpson, asking her to leave their home after the ladies' poker night. "He wanted to punch Shane in the face," Gina revealed. "He didn't like that. And he was like, 'If I see him being disrespectful to you, I'm gonna have a problem with it.' But it was fine because it moved on, and we moved on, and it's fine. He doesn't like people being disrespectful."

It has also been difficult dealing with the sometimes negative comments from fans, especially when they pertain to their three children, Nicholas, 6, Sienna, 4, and Luca, 3. "He really, really hates seeing when people are mean [on] social media about the kids. People will be like, 'Your kids are brats. They're spoiled rich kids.' And I'm like, no, that's not it at all. He gets really upset by that," Gina explained. "And I'm like, just stop looking for it. Don't look for it. But I don't know, he does."

We can't wait to hear Matt's thoughts on the RHOC Season 13 finale. Check out a sneak peek, below.
