Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi Shares an Update on Her Health and Her Son, Elijah
Shahs of Sunset’sGG got candid and raw about her “rough” treatments for rheumatoid arthritis and describes how her 3-year-old inspires her to stay strong.
Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi has always been candid about her struggles with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). But in a recent Instagram post, the Shahs of Sunset mom got particularly vulnerable as she shared her feelings on a “rough” day of dealing with the autoimmune disorder.
GG shares a look inside her painful RA treatment
In a June 13 Instagram post, GG shared a peek at her latest treatment for RA. A video showed a medical pro inserting a giant needle into GG’s knee and extracting fluid. Needless to say, it hardly looked like a walk in the park. “Ask me how I’m doing and I’ll always smile and say, ‘I’m great.’ But today, well today was a rough one!” she wrote in her caption.
“These extractions are never easy, but I know I need to get back to smiling for my son, so I toughen up and do what I gotta do to remain the Queen that I am. Simply ask me how I’m doing… but don’t judge without knowing MY reality.” She added a hashtag spelling out “f-ck RA.”
In the comments, GG shared more about her experience with RA. “When my disease started 14 years ago I only had 12 joints [affected] by it… I’m now at 44 joints,” she wrote.
GG’s comment continued: “I’ve had surgery on my finger and I’m praying I won’t need it on my knee. I was also born legally deaf and learned how to read lips as a child, but I struggle with that 24/7 sometimes even worse than my RA.”
GG concluded: “My point is, none of these things define me as a person. My character is built on how I utilize EVERYTHING thrown at me and try to turn it into something positive.”
GG’s son Elijah is growing up fast
The son GG mentioned in her post, Elijah, is growing up fast! The Shahs mama shared a recent photo of her 3-year-old on Instagram, and he simply could not be any cuter.
The photo showed Elijah chilling in a lawn chair, dressed like a mini style maven. (Like mother, like son.) Wearing sunglasses and a spiffy collared sweater, the little one had a spiky coif and an expression that meant business.
“To know him is to love him,” GG wrote in her caption, sweetly adding a red heart emoji.
GG’s sweet pregnancy moment with Kenya Moore
GG had her baby boy in 2020. In the clip above from BravoCon 2022, she recalls a sweet encounter she had with The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kenya Moore while she still had a bun in the oven.
“At the first BravCon [in 2019], I was pregnant and everyone was stampeding me,” GG shares. “[Kenya] was the only Bravolebrity that stopped, held my hand, and carried me through the walkway… She was so sweet.”
