Since joining the Bravo-verse in 2008, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum has consistently demonstrated her love for beauty and fashion. Fans have seen Gretchen put her own spin on a wide range of sartorial trends, including everything from Barbiecore and 1920s glam to the all-denim look and, her personal favorite, athleisurewear

It’s clear Gretchen has found a solid balance of comfy-casual and sexy elegance, which is why it’s no surprise she has fully embraced the “mob wife” aesthetic — the latest fashion trend to take over social media.

The video included audio from influencer Kayla Trivieri, who briefly broke down the viral fashion trend. The fad takes inspiration from classic gangster series and features films, which typically showed women in bold, luxurious outfits. The trend is anchored by animal prints, fur outerwear, gold accessories, and glossy leather.

“Clean girl is out, mob wife era is in, OK?” Kayla explained. “Starbucks and black puffers are out. We’re wearing vintage furs all winter. All we need to step into our mob life era, like, we’re already seeing the cheetah prints, the sparkles, the glitz the glam, the furs, the big hair.”

Although the trend goes heavy on the ultra-luxe vibes, Gretchen proved that it doesn’t have to be hard on the wallet. She told followers she hadn’t done any shopping to achieve the “mob wife” look and simply used items she already owned. The post showed her rocking a cream-colored turtleneck, a pair of high-waisted jeans, multiple gold necklaces by Victoria Emerson, large hoop earrings, oversized sunglasses, pointed heels, and furry/fuzzy coats.

“OK, you guys, I got mob wife fashion on today. What do we think?” she asked in an Instagram Story. “So this is the new trend that’s going on, which, I’m not gonna lie, I’m kinda digging. It’s kinda fun… I just went in my closet and grabbed some stuff I already had.”

Gretchen Rossi says she's "kind of over" the athleisure trend

Gretchen said she decided to try out the look because she was simply bored with her everyday style. But make no mistake, she has no intentions of completely ditching her cozy garms.

“I’m kind of over the athleisure-wear,” she said in another Story. “They say athleisurewear is kind of out and this is in. So, I’m trying to have fun with it… I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m still gonna be wearing athleisurewear.”
