Jax, Kristen, and Brittany Tease Upcoming Drama on The Valley: "There's a Lot Going on Right Now"
There's been so much drama in the world of The Valley recently, Jax said in a new interview.
The stars of The Valley are sharing with The Daily Dish what to expect from the all-new show in its first season.
You probably remember Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor from their time on Vanderpump Rules. But the last time the pair were on the show was their wedding season, Brittany pointed out.
“A lot has changed since then,” Brittany told The Daily Dish, previewing what their life looks like now on the new series, which was described as following “group of close friends as they trade bottle service in West Hollywood for baby bottles in the Valley."
So what will viewers get to see? Here's what Brittany, Jax, and fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Kristen Doute had to say.
What will Season 1 of The Valley be about?
The Valley gives glimpses of Jax and Brittany parenting together as they navigate marriage troubles. The two share a son named Cruz, who turns 3 years old in April.
“Cruz comes first to both of us no matter what,” Brittany said. “I just love him so much. He’s in school, going twice a week, getting ready to switch to three times a week. He’s growing so fast.”
Kristen Doute is also returning to Bravo with a new person in her life: her boyfriend, Luke Broderick.
“He’s definitely getting more used to it, but it’s very much out of his comfort zone,” Kristen said about Luke joining the reality TV world to film with her. “Everyone thinks Luke’s such an introvert, but he’s really like an extroverted introvert. When you’re around a lot of people with a lot of opinions that are sort of used to being on television and have big personalities, he tends to be a little more quiet.”

However, Luke is starting to “grow friendships” with their circle of friends, according to Kristen. Some of the other couples featured on the show are Danny and Nia Booko, Jesse and Michelle Saniei Lally, and Jason and Janet Caperna.
The first episode reveals Kristen wants to try for a baby with Luke, a process that is still ongoing, she told The Daily Dish. A trailer for The Valley indicates viewers will see more of her fertility journey.
Jax, meanwhile, is excited to show this chapter of everybody’s lives, he told The Daily Dish.
“I love the families — [as well as] my family I had with Bravo and NBC," Jax said.
The cast all have something different going on in their personal lives, which will be relatable for many viewers, Jax explained.
“You got a single guy on there,” Jax said, referring to Zack Wickham, Brittany’s friend from college. “You got a married couple who just had twins.”
But one of the main reasons Jax believes Vanderpump Rules and The Valley work as reality shows is they’re all real groups of friends rather than a bunch of strangers thrown together for a cast.
“These are all of our friends,” Jax said. “Things are gonna happen whether the cameras are gone or not. In fact, there’s a lot going on right now that’s happening that the cameras aren’t up for. They’re all kinda being like, oh my god, we shut down too soon.”
In fact, filming then had to resume, according to Jax.
Some of the major changes are two couples splitting up: Jax and Brittany announced their separation in February 2024, and the Lallys announced in March 2024 their decision to divorce.
