Jax Taylor Had "One of the Best Times Ever" with Tom Schwartz Shortly Before News of His Separation Broke

Shortly before Brittany Cartwright confirmed that she was "taking time apart" from her marriage to Jax Taylor, the Jax's Studio City part-owner spent time with a very familiar face. 

The Valley cast member reunited with his friend, Vanderpump Rules cast member Tom Schwartz, in Canada shortly before news broke about his split.

Jax Taylor Shares an Update on His Friendship with Tom Schwartz Amid His Separation

In mid-February, the California resident took some time away from the Golden State to head up North to spend time in snowy Montreal, Canada. Jax was in Canada, in part, to co-host an event with Tom Schwartz. He shared a carousel of photos from the trip on his Instagram page on February 18.

In the first photo in the carousel, Jax rested his head his close pal's shoulder. 

"I’ve been so blessed to do many events over the years and have been to many wonderful cities and countries but I gotta say Montreal has to be one of my favorites," Jax captioned the photo slideshow. "I think I speak for [Tom Schwartz] as well when I say I had one of the best times ever this weekend. The people were absolutely incredible[,] [everyone] we met was so kind and happy it made us feel so welcome. I can honestly say Montreal has the BEST food I have ever had in my life... I am literally counting the days till I get to come back."

Jax also posted a photo on his Instagram feed that Schwartz had taken. He continued to gush about the trip in the caption of his post.

"I can’t say enough about the city of Montreal," he shared, in addition to giving photo credit to Schwartz. "The food, the people, the hospitality. Every place I have gone has been amazing. I can’t wait to come back here."

Are Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright Separated?

Less than two weeks after Jax dished on his "amazing" trip to Montreal, Brittany confirmed on their podcast that the two were "taking time apart" in their marriage.

Though Brittany initially said that the spouses were living in separate homes, Jax clarified some of the comments in an interview with Page Six.

"We’re actually together in our home right now," he said. "She was in a house for a while, but, yeah, she’s back now."

Jax noted that the two are not yet discussing the prospect of getting divorced. 

"I mean this is not divorce, but just taking some time apart, just trying to re-asses our situation," he explained. "And we have a child involved, and we want to just do what's best for our kid."

As for their current status, Jax shared that they're "trying to figure it out."

"This is all fresh and new, it's not evil and nastiness, it's just two people that are hitting a 10-year mark in their [relationship], and it could go one way or the other," he added.
