Which Agent Does Josh Altman Think Has "No Intensity"?
The #MDLLA agent weighs in on his West Coast competition.
There's no doubt that Josh Altman has butted heads with the other Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agents over the years. In fact, he has a longstanding feud with Josh Flagg and definitely has history with Madison Hildebrand. As the author of It's Your Move: My Million Dollar Method for Taking Risks with Confidence and Succeeding at Work and Life, Josh isn't afraid to rate the negotiation techniques used by his fellow West Coast agents. And he did just that when The Daily Dish recently caught up with him.
Check out what he had to say.
1. David Parnes and James Harris
"The British guys — laughable."
2. Josh Flagg
The twosome recently came face-to-face for the first time in business. And this is how Josh summed up the experience: "At the end of the day, he came up a lot more than I came down so I took that one, which was great."
3. Madison Hildebrand
"Madison is just the most relaxed, happy-go-lucky [person]. I don't know if he's ever been in an intense negotiation before," he said. "Just not exciting, no intensity." But Josh added, "You know everybody has their own style. Everybody on the show obviously is successful, so I'm not going to bash that. I just personally think that some people's styles are more effective than others. Look I sell houses in Malibu [like Madison] all the time, and maybe it's just a different culture out there — even though I don't personally see that. I don't want somebody to be relaxed if they were dealing with my couple million dollars.
4. Himself
"When I go to a negotiation table I pretend like I'm going to war and it's my own money and I'm gonna fight tooth and nail for every cent," he said. "And that's just the mentality that I go in with which has gotten us to where we are today. We were broke nine years ago and now we've sold $2.5 billion of real estate — that's what's gotten us there."
