Kandi Burruss Tucker Gives Erin Lichy Her Best Real Housewives Advice

The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member had some sage words of wisdom for the newcomer.

By Jax Miller

From the longest-running Housewife to one of the newest, Kandi Burruss Tucker had some invaluable advice for one New York newcomer.

How to Watch

Kandi of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and The Real Housewives of New York City’s Erin Lichy appeared on the July 23, 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Kandi — who joined the RHOA cast in Season 2 and remains for its current Season 15 — had what Cohen called “very good advice” for Erin’s intro season.

Kandi's Best Real Housewives Advice

“Always tell the truth,” Kandi told Erin. “You never want them to run the camera back on you ...  Always tell the truth.”

Erin appreciated the tip, though Kandi wasn’t finished imparting her well-meaning advice.

“And own anything that you say or do and just stand on it,” the Grammy Award-winning singer continued. “Don’t allow them to make you feel bad about your feelings and what you think.”

Erin listened as Kandi continued, clapping her hands for emphasis.

“Stand on it!” she said.

Erin Lichy on the Hamptons Trip

Kandi’s advice to the New York City realtor and new Housewife could have come in handy when Erin invited her cast mates to her Hamptons home, as seen on Season 14, Episode 2 of RHONY. Drama ensued when the RHONY cast — including Jessel Taank, Sai de Silva, Ubah Hassan, and Jenna Lyons — took issue with Erin’s caviar spread.

If there’s anything to learn about the new cast this season, it is that their taste in food is no joke (need we remind you of the RHONY season premiere’s “Cheese-Gate” and the unnamed restaurant some of the new cast wouldn’t be caught dead in?).

But not all the drama at Erin’s Hamptons home was food-based, as pointed out by the WWHL host.

“In the Hamptons, the ladies came in hot with opinions about Erin’s toilet paper, caviar spread, dill garnish, closet space, lack of Bellinis, and not having Jenna’s Dreamy coffee,” said Cohen.

Taking a page from Kandi’s playbook, Erin drew a line in the sand, as seen in a game of “Hostess with the No-stess.” Looking back at some of the franchise’s most outlandish moments while some of the Housewives were away on trips, Erin said she wouldn’t accommodate particular requests, like if one of the women threatened to stay at a hotel if not given a specific room (as was the case with former RHONY cast member Luann de Lesseps).

“Stay in the hotel,” Erin told Cohen.

The answer also applied if one of the Housewives thought the hostess’ house was less desirable for being on the “wrong side of the highway” in the Hamptons.

Discussing the Hamptons trip recently with The Daily Dish, Erin said she’d make her fellow RHONY cast members sign a nondisclosure agreement before inviting them back to her holiday home.

“It would say, ‘Accept what I give you,’” said Erin.

It sounds like Erin won’t have too much of a problem owning her assertiveness and standing on her beliefs, Kandi!
