Kate Chastain may have handed in her epaulets after announcing that she would not be returning to Below Deck following Season 7, but that doesn't mean she still doesn't put her chief stew hat on every once in a while. When Kate appeared on the July 4 episode of The Daily Dish podcast, she had a lot to say about the current season of Below Deck Mediterranean, particularly when it came to Bugsy Drake, who returned to fill in as second stew following Lara Flumiani's sudden departure earlier this season

In fact, it was our first glimpse at Bugsy back on Below Deck Med in Season 5, when she was walking up the dock to The Wellington, that really made an impression on Kate — and not the best one. "Let's talk about her outfit walking up the dock. Let me explain it to you guys this way. Tablescapes, I think for every person, [are] supposed to be a reflection of how you dress," Kate said. "Bugsy is the end of the spectrum there. She's like over the top."

Though Kate noted that Bugsy seems "really into tablescapes," she said that she prefers how her second stew from Below Deck Season 7, Courtney Skippon, approached table decor. It's like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. There's like one that's too little, and one that's too much, I like it just right," Kate explained. "I think what's elegant is something that's beautiful, but it doesn't look like you're trying so hard."

Bugsy shared her reaction to Kate calling her tablescapes "over the top" during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home on July 20. "Honestly, I take it as a compliment," Bugsy said. "I'm all about being over the top."

In addition to her critique of her tablescapes and style, Kate did give Bugsy several actual compliments during her interview with The Daily Dish podcast, saying that the second stew is "on her game" when it comes to working in the interior on Below Deck Med. Though Kate said she doesn't know Bugsy personally, the Below Deck Med stew has "always been very sweet to me in DMs and stuff."

"I think Bugsy is gorgeous," Kate added. "Bright blue eyes, she's got a charming accent, she's very bubbly."

Kate also appeared on July 20's WWHL: @ Home, delivering that episode's Moment of Mazel, which included a surprise ending. Check it out, below.
