On February 16, Kyle shared that a "new addition" was joining her family: a Bernese Mountain Dog.

"Meet the new addition," Kyle shared on Instagram alongside a video of her new pup. "I was sent a DM by a follower on [Instagram] who told me they had this puppy but for personal reasons could not keep her and asked if I could help find her a home. So I agreed and knew I could find a home for this beautiful baby. I purposely didn’t name her so I didn’t get attached while I was looking for the right home for her. Well, I found one…"

Though Kyle was certain that the dog belonged in her family, she wasn't sure about what to name her. "I have always wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog and it felt like she was meant to be ours," she concluded in her Instagram post. "We have not been able to agree on a name so would love suggestions."

Just a few days after Kyle confirmed the news of the adoption, she revealed her new pup's name during an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish. Plus, she shared how Mauricio helped to influence the dog's moniker.

Kyle Richards' New Dog: All the Details

During her interview with The Daily Dish, Kyle opened up about how her newest dog ended up in her family in the first place.

"So, believe it or not, I do look at my DMs, and somebody sent me a DM that they had gotten this dog," she explained. "And they realized later that she and her husband, because they work full-time, can't give her the attention she deserves. So, they thought they'd reach out to me because they know I'm a dog person and [they asked me if] I'd want to keep her, or [if I would] know of anyone who would want to keep her."

Kyle shared that a Bernese Mountain Dog has long been her "dream dog," but that she had never gotten one in the past because her pets "are all rescues." She initially asked a friend of hers if she would want the dog, but the friend later determined that she couldn't keep her, either.

"Then I didn't look for anyone else to try to re-home the dog," she added. "Now, she's mine!

Kyle went on to share that the Bernese Mountain Dog is fitting in nicely with the rest of her family.

"Everyone loves her. At first, Romeo did not — Romeo's the only boy, so, in my house, it's four daughters, myself, five female dogs, and Romeo," Kyle continued. "So, Romeo didn't like her at first, but now, they all get along great."

Kyle Richards Shares How Mauricio Umansky Played a Role in Naming Her New Dog

After asking her followers to offer up name suggestions, Kyle shared how she and her family came up with her moniker, Georgie.

"Trying to find a name was really difficult, because when you have a big family, everyone weighs in. They were coming up with names and I'm like, 'Your dad is not going to want to yell that at the dog park, so you can't say anything embarrassing,'" the RHOBH cast member said. "Because, we do still live under the same roof for now, so I had to take that into consideration. But, her name is Georgie. It was just the only name we could all agree on, but I'm not really sure where we came up with that."
