Lloyd Spencer Opens Up About His Health Scare: "It Got Worse and Worse"
The deckhand details what he was going through when he became ill on Below Deck Med.
The latest episode of Below Deck Mediterranean ended with a scary moment for Lloyd Spencer.
As the Lady Michelle crew prepared for the final charter of the season in the October 4 episode, Lloyd appeared to not be operating at 100 percent. The deckhand seemed sluggish while performing his usual duties and then started retching while inflating the swim platform.
After seeing this, Malia White checked in on Lloyd, who said that he was experiencing tightness in his chest and stomach. The bosun told Lloyd to get off the deck and take it easy before informing Captain Sandy Yawn of the situation.
Captain Sandy then spoke with Lloyd and took his blood pressure, which was high. So, she determined that Lloyd needed to take a water taxi to shore to receive medical attention.
In the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show, above, Lloyd said that he immediately did not feel well that morning. "I felt almost disembodied from the minute I woke up," the deckhand recalled in the above Bravo Insider exclusive. "I think we were having a meeting, and I just, like, couldn't focus on what was going on."
Lloyd went on to describe more of how he was feeling as he started his work for the day, including "the worst thing" he experienced. By the time Lloyd spoke with Captain Sandy in the bridge, the deckhand said that he was in really bad shape. "It got worse and worse, and I vomited in Captain Sandy's toilet, which wasn't exactly ideal," Lloyd shared. "So not only was I having the situation, but I then kept doing stuff that made it more stressful."
Hear more from Lloyd on his reaction to Captain Sandy's decision to have him seek medical attention, as well as what the rest of the Below Deck Med crew remembers about this day in the After Show, above.
