Meghan King Edmonds Now Regrets Circumcising Her Twin Sons with Jim: "It Makes Me Sad"
The RHOC alum says it was “really hard for” her to make that parenting decision.
Meghan King Edmonds is not holding back when it comes to what she discusses on her new podcast, Intimate Knowledge — and that includes her life as a mom to her three kids with Jim Edmonds. In an episode released this week, Meghan discusses that it was “really hard for” her to decide to have her twin sons, Hart and Hayes, now 19 months, circumcised. She “was really upset by it” she said in the episode, via PEOPLE.
“I have two sons and I did it. My partner was a professional baseball player. He was like, ‘Well in the locker room, I don’t want him to get him made fun of.’ I was like, ‘Okay, well, you’re the dad. You do have 50 percent choice in this,’ ” she said. “I’m like, ‘We live in — 2018, at the time. We know how to clean ourselves, we have showers and hygiene. Why would I do this to my child? He’s a little baby.'"
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum added, “There’s no reason to manipulate your baby boy’s body like that. I don’t like it. It makes me sad.”
She added: “Also, there’s no kind of numbing except topically. What type of long-term [psychological] effects does this possibly have on our kids growing up through the years? And then — I’m gonna get real deep, but is this why maybe men are more aggressive? I don’t know.”
Meghan and Jim separated after 5 years of marriage back in October. In addition to sons Hart (who was diagnosed with "brain damage" in connection with his minor Periventricular Leukomalacia diagnosis last year) and Hayes, they are also parents to daughter Aspen, 3.
