Mercedes "MJ" Javid Shares an Update on What She's Tackling Next After the Birth of Her Son
The Shahs of Sunset mom got real about postpartum self-care.
It's been a little more than a month since Mercedes "MJ" Javid welcomed her first child, son Shams Francis Feight, into the world, and she is slowly but surely settling in to her new life as a mom.
MJ recently revealed what's helping get things back to normal on Instagram, opening up about the importance of self-care after having a baby. "I have to say this, I’m not doing a lot in the postpartum self care department, but the things that I do, make me feel great," MJ shared in a post that featured a photo of her getting her glam on. "It’s been really great to have love, support, laughter, fresh air, a brisk walk, a fresh set."
The Shahs of Sunset mom also teased that she's hoping to resume her fitness regime in the near future. "My next goal is breaking a sweat," she said in the post.
MJ certainly deserves some rest and relaxation following the birth of her son on April 17. She was taken to the ICU after encountering "a ton of complications" after welcoming her baby boy via emergency C-section. “During my delivery, I lost two thirds of my body’s blood supply, requiring 19 units of blood during the surgery, then [was] intubated and placed in ICU from having significant fluid in my lungs after my C-section,” MJ later told Us Weekly.
But MJ's first month as a mom has still been an absolutely magical experience. “I’m feeling much better [since the delivery] and we had an amazing first weekend at home with Baby Shams Francis,” she told Us Weekly after she was released from the hospital. “He’s such a great baby and I couldn’t be more in love with him… Tommy and I are truly blessed.”
