Mike Shouhed Reveals the Last Time He Spoke to Ex-Wife Jessica Parido
The Shahs of Sunset entrepreneur revealed where things stand with his ex today.
As things heat up between Mike Shouhed and his new girlfriend, Paulina Ben-Cohen, the Shahs of Sunset cast member is reflecting on what’s he learned from his past relationships. Mike, who was previously married to Jessica Parido, recently opened up about the dissolution of his first marriage and revealed the last time he spoke to his ex.
Mike and Jessica separated in 2015 amid allegations of infidelity, following less than eight months of marriage. The former couple finalized their divorce in fall 2016, and Mike later admitted to cheating on Jessica during their relationship.
Mike got candid about the tumultuous split in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. "People don't cheat unless they are in a relationship they are not happy in," he said. "Me and my ex-wife had a lot of issues, and the cheating happened before we were married. We were dealing with a lot of fighting and we were barely talking, let alone intimate. Just constantly at each other's throats, and that led me to look for love in another relationship or another situation, and I am not that person I was anymore.”
Though their relationship ended on a sour note, Mike revealed that the two harbor no ill feelings toward each other and are now cordial. Though they don’t talk frequently, the two were in touch after Jessica welcomed her first baby last year.
“We don’t really talk. The last time we chatted was to show me pictures of her beautiful son. I’m so happy for her. She’s a wonderful person,” he said, also adding, “We just weren’t right for each other.”
While Jessica is adjusting to new motherhood, Mike has also moved on and is now focusing his attention on his new relationship. Though he once thought he would never get married again, Mike says he and Paulina have discussed getting engaged and tying the knot, although they’re in no rush to do so.
"We love each other very much, and I definitely want to do that, but right now I have so much going on, and massive projects on my hands, and I need to kind of coddle those and make sure that they are OK, and take the next step and fully -- marriage sounds like such a wonderful idea, and we have glamorized it, but if you are really in an amazing relationship, you really don’t need to have that paper to make you feel like you are going to be with the person for the rest of your life,” he said.
You can see more of Mike on the new season of Shahs of Sunset, airing Sundays at 9/8c.
