Paige DeSorbo Gets Candid About Relationship Issues with Craig Conover: “It’s Easy to Fall into That”

Paige DeSorbo is sharing the realities of having your relationship be in the spotlight.

The fashion contributor has been dating Southern Charm's Craig Conover since the summer of 2021 and their relationship has seriously progressed over the last few years. They've gone the distance, making their romance work despite living in different cities. 

But the biggest hurdle to overcome has been staying grounded in reality. As Paige explains in the Season 8, Episode 6 Summer House: After Show, it's easy to get caught up in the glamour of being a famous couple. "It's very like, 'Everyone loves you;' 'Oh my god, this is so romantic;' 'This is the coolest thing,'" she said.

This, she's learned, isn't enough to sustain a relationship. Here's why...

As Paige and Craig's relationship has intensified, the Summer House cast member has been vocal about wanting a steady foundation for them to build a life together. As she put it in the above clip, "I'd rather have something real and tangible."

So while "it's easy to fall into" the trap of believing they have this fairytale romance that's played out on TV, she says she'd rather have the difficult conversations. 

She felt that castmates Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke didn't necessarily take the steps to ensure they were strong enough as a couple before becoming engaged, ultimately leading to them calling off their wedding.

"They loved the limelight of everyone loving them, that they weren't doing the real stuff at home so it caught up with them," Paige said.

Paige's Emotional Conversation with Lindsay

Paige seemingly saw the warning signs and pulled Lindsay for a conversation with her and Amanda Batula in Episode 6. During their impromptu sit-down in the backyard, Paige asked Lindsay the same question she asked Amanda before her wedding: Does she really want to marry Carl?

To this, Lindsay admitted that there are red flags, but said they're "miniature."

"They're not like red enough for me to be like, 'I don't want to get married,'" she explained. "Maybe it's naive of me."

As for Craig's perspective on his relationship with Paige, it seems he's also aware that it's not a perfect situation. In Season 8, Episode 5, he told Kyle Cooke that "there’s always that chance" they could break up in the future.

"We do live in different places," he said. " Like, it's very probable.”

And as time passes, Craig is worried that they aren't aligned on their visions for the future, like when to have kids. 

“In my perfect world, there would be little more security to being like one day we’re gonna get married and then have kids,” Craig explained to Kyle. “She has told me that’s what we’re going to do, and so I have to tailor my insecurities and impatience and either believe her or not.”
