Paige DeSorbo on Why This Season of Summer House Was “Very Different” and Feeling "Lonely"

The Summer House cast member experienced something that she never had before in filming — and it has something to do with her living situation.

By Casey Suglia

Paige DeSorbo knows that there are two very important things when it comes to Summer House: having a good time and having an even better room to sleep in throughout the summer.

How to Watch

The rooming assignments — who sleeps where and who gets the best bedroom — have caused some drama between Summer House cast members over the past eight seasons.

But, Season 8 was a little different for the cast members of the show, and not because Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke showed up to the house later than the rest of their housemates. Instead, Paige revealed during an Amazon Live appearance on Feb. 22 that it had everything to do with the rooms.

Viewers are well aware that there is always a fight for the primary suite, with the cast members coming up with reasons for why they deserve the biggest bedroom that year. But, according to Paige, who finally ended up in the primary bedroom this year, "a very different thing happened."

"There was no fight, there was no struggle," she said. "Everyone picked their own rooms. Everyone was allowed to have their own room this year. And let me add, that I have been on the show for six years and never once have I had my own room, I have always had to share with someone."

While Paige did note that she has chosen to room with someone since joining the cast in Season 3, she has always felt like the "sacrificial" cast member for room sharing. "So if there's not like, available rooms, it's always known that I'm easy going and will share a room," she explained.

But this wasn't necessarily a good change for her because she had "no one to gossip with" or hang out with in the morning. "I was honestly a little lonely," she admitted.

Inside the Summer House Season 8 upgrades

While cast members: Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke, Lindsay Hubbard, Carl Radke, Ciara Miller, Danielle Olivera, Gabby Prescod, and Paige returned to the same house that they stayed in during Season 7, a few changes were made to the home. And not because they had two new housemates joining them — Jesse Solomon and West Wilson.

This year, the house went under renovations and got "rezoned" allowing for six cast members to have their own rooms, while two couples got to share two different rooms. The house also got some new furniture, including a bar and disco ball put in one of the front rooms, to give it a full transformation.

Although there might have been less drama surrounding the rooms and their roommates, that doesn't mean there was a lack of drama this season. Keep up with all of the drama and catch new episodes of Summer House on Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock
