The Real Housewives of Atlanta dad Dennis McKinley is already a multi-hyphenate, and he just added another accolade to his résumé. The Georgia-based businessman, who shares daughter Pilar Jhena “PJ” McKinley with RHOA’s Porsha Williams, shared the exciting update via Instagram on September 20.

“Honored to join [the Georgia Entertainment Caucus] Board,” Dennis captioned his social media announcement. “I look forward to serving [and thank] you.”

For those not familiar with the bipartisan caucus, which launched in 2019, he further explained that the Atlanta-based organization “focuses on bridging the gap between the Georgia Political Sector and the Entertainment industry.” The GEC is composed of esteemed members of the Georgia House of Representatives, along with well-known figures in the entertainment industry.

Outside of his new role as a board member, Dennis also leads the Detroit Equities branding company, which runs Atlanta’s Cru Hookah Lounge and the Original Hot Dog Factory. He also owns the NYAK Cognac brand. 

Just hours before dropping the announcement, Dennis shared just how far he’s come over the past two decades. Sharing a throwback Instagram photo earlier on September 20, the Detroit native explained in the caption that he moved to Chicago’s Hyde Park in 2001, at which time he was “buying real estate” and working in the kitchen of the local Italian Village restaurant. 

Dennis went on to recount that he’d also just gotten out of culinary school after attending Michigan’s Oakland University. He eventually graduated from the University of Michigan in 2005 with a degree in economics.

Outside of his professional life, Dennis remains committed to co-parenting 3-year-old PJ with Porsha. On July 2, he shared to his Instagram Stories an adorable daddy-daughter photo in which he and PJ were twinning in matching glasses. Weeks earlier, Porsha’s ex also celebrated Father’s Day by posting another sweet photo with his little girl on Instagram.

“No greater joy than being a father to this [queen]!” he captioned the photo. “[Pilar Jhena] I love you [and happy Father’s Day] to all the [fathers] out there… Let’s go [daddies,] these babies need us.”

Surely, PJ is super proud of her dad’s latest accomplishment too.
