Kandi Burruss Reveals If the “Secret” to Her and Todd Tucker’s Marriage Includes RHOA Viewings
The RHOA cast member revealed what her “teammate” Todd does that she “never experienced before being with him.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have hit a sweet spot after more than eight years of marriage.
Their secret? “Just great communication and having fun together,” Kandi told People at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 29. “We have a real understanding of each other.”
Add to that the RHOA spouses’ unwavering mutual support, both personally and professionally, and they’re the definition of a power couple. “He pushes me in a way that I can’t say I had never experienced before being with him,” she added. “I really feel like he’s my teammate in life.”
Noting that they’ve “intertwined” their “wants and desires,” Kandi also credits her husband with rooting for her dreams, even when she’s thinking “all out of the box.”
She continued, “I think that’s what makes it work, because sometimes I feel like, especially when you are a woman who has dreams and goals, you don’t always meet a man who is going to support your dreams and goals and keep pushing you.”
As a couple, they prefer to keep looking forward. At BravoCon 2022, Kandi explained that she “[hates] to watch arguments back” on RHOA because she has to “go through it three times”: when it happens, when it airs, and then again at the reunion. Calling the triple whammy “so annoying,” she revealed that Todd shares her sentiment when it comes to certain televised marital ups and downs.
“Even when my husband and I would sometimes see old reruns of certain shows, certain seasons, we can’t go back and watch together because he gets in his feelings about it,” Kandi elaborated during BravoCon 2022's Atlanta Peaches in NYC panel. “Then it brings up certain things that he feels a way about. So it’s like, yeah, I’d rather not watch it with him, certain episodes that I know are going to be touchy.”
Clearly, they have their relationship strategies on lock.
