Kandi Burruss has added another trophy to her mantle. During Atlanta Black Pride weekend, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member earned the Pure Heat Community Festival’s 2022 Humanitarian Award.

“It was awesome to feel the love from so many people especially in the rain,” Kandi captioned a series of September 5 Instagram photos from the “awesome” annual LGBTQ+ event, which was held at Piedmont Park. After thanking several people for “seeing me [and] recognizing me for the work I’ve been doing in the community,” she added that she was also “happy to see [her] boy,” Pose alum Dyllón Burnside, who also appeared in her Broadway show, Thoughts of a Colored Man (she speaks more about that project in the video, above).

Burnside was among those to send congratulations for the honor, joining RHOA’s Drew Sidora and Cynthia Bailey. “Congrats sis,” Drew commented, adding a flame emoji.

During her acceptance speech, Kandi admitted that she “really wasn’t expecting” to win the award. “When they said that I was gonna get this award today, I was like, “wow,” because I know so many people who have been honored here in prior years,” she told the crowd in a video shared by The Shade Room. “So to be able to come up here and be out here with y’all, I really appreciate it. You know I love the community, I love being out here with y’all. And, hey, keep rockin’ with me and I’ll keep rockin’ with you.”
