Guerdy Abraira Shares a Health Update on Martina Navratilova
The tennis legend, who’s married to RHOM cast member Julia Lemigova, was diagnosed with cancer last month.
It's been roughly a month since Martina Navratilova shared that she had been diagnosed with Stage 1 throat and early stage breast cancers, but today, both the tennis legend and her wife, The Real Housewives of Miami's Julia Lemigova, remain "in great spirits."
That's according to Julia's RHOM castmate Guerdy Abraira, who appeared on Page Six's podcast on February 2. "It’s looking very, very positive," she said of Martina's diagnosis. "And it’s on the preventative side, when they found out, it’s early. And we [pray] and that’s it."
In the meantime, Guerdy and the rest of the RHOM cast is "keeping our head down and [hoping] for the best for her."
The positive update echoes the sentiment shared by Martina's representative on January 2. Per ESPN, the rep said that Martina's "prognosis is good" and that she planned to start treatment that month.
Martina herself added, "This double whammy is serious but still fixable, and I’m hoping for a favorable outcome. It’s going to stink for a while, but I’ll fight with all I have got."
Julia, who's been married to the 18-time Grand Slam singles champion since 2014, also spoke out after the news of Martina's cancer went public. "Thank you to everyone who has reached out to share words of support," Julia captioned a photo of her, Martina, and their dog. "Together, we will fight this."
