How to Watch

Karen Huger will be hitting the stage of the DC Improv on June 1 with singer CeCe Peniston and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Star Jasmine Masters for An Evening with The Grande Dame & Friends. Get ready for “an evening of comedy, music, and intelligent conversation” with “surprise guests,” according to the show’s description on the DC Improv’s website. Karen has also shared on Instagram that the show will feature “sizzle topics,” a panel discussion, and a live Q&A. Fans can also meet The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member herself with a VIP upgrade.

Karen came up with the idea for a live show after she enjoyed connecting with fans so much at her La’ Dame fragrance pop-up at Bloomingdale’s. “You have to understand that I love to talk,” Karen said during an interview with Good Day DC earlier this week. “And I am so grateful for Bloomingdale’s and HSN. It actually encouraged me to have that moment with people that have embraced La’ Dame, my brand, my products, my candles, my fragrance. And on that journey, I actually — the last pop-up I had in Bloomingdale’s — just almost shut the doors of the fragrance area,” she revealed. “And I realized in the pandemic, there’s a need to talk, right? There’s a need to listen. And so many people wanted me to listen. And so what I did from that was, I thought I would always have my own show anyway, so I decided, why wait? Let’s take it to the people.”

It sounds like the Grande Dame might even let loose like never before during this live show. “It’s a grown person’s night,” she said. “You know, you could eat, you could have libations.”

With the show taking place on June 1, which kicks off Pride Month, Karen also told Good Morning Washington this week that she wants “to be inclusive of that and celebrate Pride as well” during the event.

In fact, this show will be just the start for Karen, who said she plans to take it on the road with a tour of “three to five cities, or five to 10.” Oh, and Karen also had an exciting update on her three-wick candle that was a hot topic of conversation on the last season of RHOP. “You need to stay tuned, because we have a holiday special coming out with the candle because it was so well received, and some of my customers want something else,” Karen teased on Good Morning Washington. “So I’m gonna do a little twist on it. It’s in the process now, so stay tuned for the holidays.”

With so many projects in the works and fresh off The Real Housewives of Potomac: Karen's Grande Dame Reunion airing in April, Karen opened up about how she does it all, in addition to being a wife, mom, and friend. “It looks easy because I plan properly. I planted the seed, and I have one heck of a team around me. I would be totally, totally false in saying that I do it all myself. You know, I have a team that I can share my dreams and plans with, and we bring it to being. So, hence, the La’ Dame fragrance, all of it, the brand,” she shared during her interview with Good Morning Washington. “Also charity, when I want to reach out and participate in that, which I will be doing as soon as we wrap up. I want to give charity my full attention.”

Simply put, Karen always has her eye on the prize. “I really, really take it very seriously,” she added. “I plan properly, and then I execute so I don’t fail.”

RHOP is streaming on Peacock.
