This season on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Whitney Rose has opened up about a very personal experience in her family: her father’s journey with sobriety. The cast member recently shared an update on how her dad, Steve, is doing, now, on the December 2 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Peacock and the Bravo App.

“We got a lot of people saying that they really admired you guys for sharing this story on the show,” said Andy, asking for an update on Steve.

“You know, I am very proud of my father for opening up and being vulnerable. That was a huge risk and that was a big deal, and I’m proud of him,” said Whitney. “He’s doing well. Sobriety is a life long process. It’s not just a one-time thing, so yeah, we’re still working through a lot of things, but he’s doing well. He’s healthy. He’s alive!”

Whitney has also shared some love for her dad on social media, sharing a look at some of the most precious father-daughter memories they’ve experienced together. In a November 18 Instagram, Whitney posted a recent video of Steve playfully juggling, as well as a number of photos of the duo from throughout her childhood.

“I am so proud of my father for sharing his journey battling addiction,” Whitney wrote. “I will always be my daddy’s girl.”

In a later post, Whitney shared more throwback photos with her father, including some heartwarming shots from when she was just a baby and some cute moments from various family beach trips. “I’m proud of you dad,” Whitney captioned the post.

Steve has clearly been feeling the love from RHOSLC fans. In response to a follower who wrote, “We’re really pulling for your dad,” Whitney replied, “Thank you! It takes a community. I appreciate all of you."
