Which Member of the Southern Charm Crew Did Newbie Austen Kroll Think Was the Most "Eccentric"?

The #SouthernCharm newcomer shares his first impressions.

Austen Kroll may not have watched very much Southern Charm before Shep Rose initiated him into the crew, but that allowed the Season 4 rookie to really have the chance to get to know the Charleston squad for himself.

How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Peacock and the Bravo App.

"For me, I definitely came in as a newbie. Shep was kind of my guide through the waters, but in typical [Shep] fashion when we show up to parties and stuff he runs off and starts getting in conversations. And I'm like, 'Alright, I guess I'm here to navigate the waters by myself,'" Austen recently told The Daily Dish. "So that's kind of what happened a lot and I had to forge my own way."

Because of this, Austen formed his own opinions of the close-knit group of pals, even if he had been told some things about them beforehand. "I didn't judge anyone off of what I had heard or things that Shep had told me," he said. "I was like 'I'm going to be committed to figuring out people for how I perceive them when I meet them,'" he said. "So that's what I did. I definitely got close with Craig and with Landon and with Whitney. And that's all because I developed my own take on them."

So what were the first impressions Austen had of the friends? He shares all, below.

1. Thomas Ravenel

"In one word aloof. People love to give him a hard time, but I think that Thomas has a kind heart. That's just who he is where it took him like six weeks to learn my name for god's sake. It's just like we sit down and we all start talking and then bam Thomas just goes off for 30 minutes about 'Oh this one time I got lunch with Cameran Diaz and who popped up none other than George Clooney.' And you're like 'Thomas. what are you talking about right now?' But that's just kind of who Thomas is and I truly feel that he has a good heart and he reaches out to me."

2. Whitney Sudler-Smith

"I was like 'Is Whitney like a mama's boy? Or, what's going on here?' But Whitney is definitely eccentric and I think that he would be fine with falling into that category."

3. Landon Clements

"It didn't take me long [to get close to her] cause Landon was very kind to me right off the bat and that's all that it takes."

4. Craig Conover

A post shared by Craig Conover (@caconover) on

"The same with Craig. The first thing that Craig said to me when I met him at the pool party was, he was like 'Let's be best friends so we can piss of Shep.' And I was like 'Alright,' so right there I already see some rivalry right off the bat."

5. Cameran Eubanks

"When I first met her at the pool party, Shep ran off and was like a golden retriever saying 'hey' to everyone and Cam grabbed me by the arm and started walking me around and introducing me to people right away. She just provides this aura of warmth and like 'Cam, you saved me.'"

6. Kathryn C. Dennis

One more: #love

A post shared by Kathryn Calhoun Dennis (@kathryndennis) on

"Kathryn probably is someone that I've spent the least amount of time with ... So when she came back [from rehab], she was playing a whole lot of catch up. When we did interact, everything was fine."
