Who Is Hagood Coxe? Get to Know the New Cast Member of Southern Charm Savannah
"Where I was from, you were hardly a Southern belle if you can't skin a catfish," the newest Charmer shared.
We'll get to catch up with some of our favorite Southerners next week when Southern Charm Savannah returns on Monday, July 16 at 10/9c. Along with tons of major changes for the longtime pals, we're excited to see how two new faces tie into the mix with the addition of Hagood Coxe and Brandon Branch. But who exactly are these two new Charmers? While we got a taste of Brandon on-screen last season when Catherine Cooper enlisted him to help her learn the ropes of the interior design business (you can learn more about him here), this is the first we'll see of newcomer Hagood. Below are some more facts we were able to learn about the blond Southern belle.
1. She's pals with Catherine Cooper.
We can thank Catherine Cooper for introducing us to Hagood this season — and Hagood will even be painting a portrait of Miss Cooper! What else are good friends for?
2. Her South Carolina upbringing on a rice plantation led her to her career path.
Hagood writes on her personal website about how growing up on a rice plantation in South Carolina has shaped her into the woman she is today.
“Having lived in the wetlands near the P.D. river, with no neighbors for 20 miles in any direction, I became intimately aware and appreciative of the natural world," she writes. "The balance and beauty of the relationships that supported the diverse wildlife ‘and myself’ fascinated me.”
3. She is a freelance artist of scientific illustration.

4. No love complications coming up this season! Hagood is proudly #TeamTaken
While the other Charmers might be struggling in the love department this season, Hagood is currently dating the man of her dreams. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have lots of opinions about everyone else's dating lives!
5. Like a true nature lover, she loves to travel (and has been to France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, to name a few!)
6. She wants to start her own sake business.
With her love of Japanese culture and growing up on a rice farm, it's no wonder that Hagood wants to bring these two passions together with one delicious drink: sake! 8. She's not your typical debutante.
Sure, Hagood might have had a cotillion and been a lead debutante — but she also grew up rough and tumble on the farm. In her own words: "I'm absolutely a mix of tomboy and Southern belle. But where I was from, you were hardly a Southern belle if you can't skin a catfish." We have a feeling she'll be holding her own this season!
