Carl, Lindsay, Amanda, and Kyle React to Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix’s Split

The Summer House couples weighed in on the shocking Vanderpump Rules break-up.

The Summer House crew is giving their take on all of the drama unfolding on the opposite coast amongst their Vanderpump Rules friends. More specifically, Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Lindsay Hubbard, and Carl Radke are sharing how they really feel about Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix's recent split.

How to Watch

Watch Summer House on Bravo Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

"My heart goes out to Ariana," Amanda said during the March 13 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. "I mean, she’s surrounded by her friends, fortunately, but I just ... It’s a crappy situation. It makes me sick."

Amanda's husband was equally upset, especially considering the particular circumstances of the breakup. As Kyle put it during the same WWHL episode, "I mean, look, Ariana’s the sweetest. My heart goes out to her. I cannot imagine what it’s like to be going through this ... It sucks."

Fellow Summer House couple Carl and Lindsay, meanwhile, appeared on WWHL on March 27. And even though it had nearly been a month since news first broke that Tom and Ariana were going their separate ways, the soon-to-be-married pair was still in shock. After all, as Carl pointed out, it wasn't long ago that he and Lindsay were hanging out with the former couple at BravoCon 2022

Reflecting on whether or not there were any signs something was amiss, Lindsay said she didn't have any suspicions at the time. But now? Yes — especially considering Tom's Halloween costume, which Lindsay said she and pal Katie Maloney had actually discussed at the time.

"I was like, 'Why did he do that?'" Lindsay recalled. "And she was like, 'I don't know, actually.' Now that you start putting the pieces together, you're just like, it was in front of our eyes this entire time."

When it comes to Tom and Ariana themselves, he addressed his role in the split by issuing two separate statements — the first of which included an apology to those feeling “anger” or “disappointment” toward him, as well as Tom Schwartz and their business partners; and the second, an apology to Ariana herself — while Ariana only recently spoke out on the matter. In an Instagram post shared on March 16, she thanked her friends, family, and fans "for the outpouring of love and support" she's received.

“To say I have been devastated and broken is an understatement,” Ariana continued. “However, I know that I am not in this alone. So many of my closest friends are also grieving this loss right now and reeling from this betrayal on so many levels."

Some of these friends include her Vanderpump Rules castmates, many of whom have, like the Summer House crew, also shared their candid reactions to the breakup. What's more, the show's cameras have been catching it all, as Andy previously announced that filming on Season 10 had resumed. The reuniontaped on March 23 — is still to come, too.
