Kyle Cooke Shares His Take on the Danielle, Amanda, and Lindsay Friend Drama

The friendship dynamics are changing like never before on Summer House Season 7. Kyle Cooke and Carl Radke’s close connection is threatened when they have difficulties working together at Loverboy, while longtime best pals Danielle Olivera and Lindsay Hubbard have teased that their friendship ends up in an “unfortunate” place by the end of the summer.

Before Lindsay and Danielle’s friendship fell apart, the latter cast member defended Lindsay and Carl against Kyle during a group dinner on Episode 2. Though the dramatic dinner temporarily placed Kyle and Danielle at odds with each other, they patched things up on the following episode. During a recent chat with The Daily Dish, Kyle referred to Danielle as a “loyal, diehard friend” who is “coming from a good place.”

“Look, I’ve been friends with Danielle almost as long as I’ve been friends with Lindsay. When Danielle goes hard in the paint for Lindsay and Carl, sometimes she doesn’t even have the full story,” Kyle explained. “She’s just a loyal, diehard friend.”

Though Danielle defended Carl and Lindsay early in the summer, things ultimately changed — and fans have yet to fully learn why. Like viewers, Kyle is also looking forward to getting some clarity on what happened.

“When we went into this summer, from my perspective, the relationship between Danielle, Carl, and Lindsay was same old, same old. I thought things were good,” Kyle said. “It’s not like Danielle was talking s--t about Carl and Lindsay. It was the opposite of the case.”

“So I think it’s going to be very interesting to see this play out. [Because] you know, obviously I wasn’t privy to everything that was said,” he continued. “But, you know, my heart kind of goes out to Danielle and Lindsay just because it’s a bummer of a situation.”

While Kyle made amends with Danielle shortly after their disagreement, he’s not exactly sure where things stand in his own friendship with Lindsay. His wife, Amanda Batula, has had friction with Lindsay on Summer House Season 7, and the two got into even more of a beef when Amanda hinted that Lindsay “can be” the rudest to fans when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in October 2022.

Lindsay reacted to the claim by sharing on her Instagram Stories a series of photos of her attending Loverboy events. When Amanda went on the Chicks in the Office podcast in February 2023, she confirmed that she had “not heard from [Lindsay] at all” following her WWHL appearance. Kyle noted that the issue has affected his own relationship with Lindsay.

“One minute I think I’m good with her, same with Amanda, and the next minute there’s like an Instagram war. And I just don’t feed into that. Candidly, I don’t know where I stand with Lindsay,” Kyle explained. “It’s dicey, because if Lindsay’s in a weird place with Amanda, and that’s, quite frankly, been the case a lot of the time for the last [few] years, it makes my relationship with Lindsay more complicated.”
