Andrea Denver Gets Real on the Summer House Drama After His Return to the Hamptons

The Summer House and Winter House alum gave his honest take on the feud between Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula and Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard.

By Allison Crist

Andrea Denver paid a visit to the Hamptons on Monday, March 6's all-new episode of Summer House, and it's safe to say that the "Italian Stallion" had been sorely missed.

How to Watch

Watch Summer House on Bravo Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

He was greeted with literal cheers from the entire cast upon his arrival — sans Paige DeSorbo, who was out of town for the weekend — and even the new roommates were quickly taken with him. As Gabby Prescod put it, "Andrea is the perfect male specimen. I could write a dissertation on what makes Andrea perfect, and graduate with honors."

Unfortunately, the bliss brought on by his presence was short-lived. Drama between Lindsay Hubbard, Carl Radke, Kyle Cooke, and Amanda Batula took over, and while Andrea wasn't involved, he's now looking back at everything that went down — namely, Danielle Olivera saying she trusted Amanda the least only for Kyle to turn it around on "master manipulator" Lindsay — and giving his honest take on the matter.

Amanda, Kyle, and Lindsay's Summer House Squabble

“I didn’t expect Amanda to get that emotional,” Andrea told Us of Danielle's comment. "She was emotional a little bit that night, so I think that caught her off guard. People [then] started screaming at each other, crying. It was a lot of things that you wouldn’t have expected 30 minutes before. That was so totally out of the blue. I was kind of shocked.”

Kyle became particularly heated after seeing Amanda upset, so he zeroed in on Lindsay. "I understand Kyle stepping up for his wife," Andrea said, but with a caveat: "I think there's [different] ways to do it. I think maybe a different approach would've been better, but I guess you can't control emotion."

Carl's Role in the Argument

Fans watched Lindsay's fiancé, Carl, take a different approach than Kyle by refusing to engage. The way Andrea saw it, "I just think Carl knows Kyle enough to understand that Kyle, in that moment, was really over the top because [he] was pretty drunk. We had a great day until that moment, and I think he wanted to deal with it in a more prudent way."

As for Lindsay and Carl themselves, Andrea said they simply "understand each other," so it made sense that she didn't ask him to get involved.

The Loverboy Drama

Carl was also refraining from confronting Kyle because of the tension over his Loverboy employment, but Andrea "wasn't fully aware" of that aspect at the time, he told OK! Magazine. "In September, I found out all of the details," he said. "I found out that there was the chance that Carl might step down from his position."

As Summer House fans may recall, Carl did indeed leave his VP of sales position at Loverboy in February (though he says he's still a "proud" investor of the brand).

"I felt bad that there was beef between them because I wouldn't have expected it," Andrea continued. "Only a few months before, Carl celebrated Kyle's and Amanda's wedding. They've been best friends for so many years, so I was really, really surprised."

Carl and Lindsay's Engagement

Set to have their own wedding in the near future are Carl and Lindsay, and while they're not on the best of terms with some of their friends, Andrea "can't wait for them to get married," he told Page Six.

"I think they’re perfect together. I think they found themselves in the best moment in their lives," he added. "I think they found themselves in the right moment, and I’m a true believer of their love and I’m excited for their future."

Future Hopes and Predictions

As for the future of Carl and Kyle's friendship, "I hope they sort everything out even if they're not working together anymore," Andrea told OK! Magazine. "I just hope that they can fix their friendship and move on."
