Katie Doesn’t "Feel Bad" Hooking Up with Schwartz’s BFF Max, But He Calls It "Weird"

The Vanderpump Rules cast is still reeling from the fact that Katie Maloney hooked up with her former castmate and Tom Schwartz's close friend, Max Boyens.
This became clear on Season 11, Episode 10 (which aired April 2) as well as the subsequent episode of the Vanderpump Rules After Show, as both featured several cast members discussing the hook up — namely, Schwartz.
How does Tom Schwartz feel about Katie Maloney and Max Boyen's hook up today?
On the Vanderpump Rules After Show, Schwartz reflected on Katie and Max's hook up — which took place in the summer of 2023 — and described it as both "weird" and "funny." He also admitted that while he initially tried to brush it off like he didn't care, that wasn't the case. "Maybe it's misrepresentation to say I didn't care. I was just caught off guard. It was more of a 'WTF' moment," Schwartz explained. "But there was no anger or resentment toward Max or Katie. Zero."
Still, "I had to acknowledge the hypocrisy," Schwartz added, "because [Katie] really did [go] scorched-earth on my life after that kiss in Mexico — just, like, burned it down, our whole friendship. Or what was left of it."

On Vanderpump Rules, Katie said, "Should I feel bad? No. It's not like we had an agreement, right? ... I don't really give a f-ck. He didn't respect me, so why am I even gonna give it a thought? I'm just gonna do what I want."
Katie elaborated on the Vanderpump Rules After Show, noting that Schwartz "took a giant sh-t" on the agreement they actually did have on Season 10, "and basically said 'I don't give a f-ck about you or respecting you or this friendship we're trying to build.'"
Was Max Boyen a "revenge bang" for Katie Maloney?
A producer on the Vanderpump Rules After Show asked Katie if Max was a "revenge bang" considering the hook up happened right after she found out Schwartz had previously kissed Scheana Shay. Katie's response? "No ... that was really divine timing though."
