The tension between Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill seemed to get worse and worse with each passing episode of The Real Housewives of New York City this season. However, the Season 10 finale provided a glimmer of hope that these onetime besties could one day restore their friendship back to its former glory.

In fact, Bethenny said during Part 3 of the RHONY reunion Wednesday night that she was still optimistic that she and Carole could work out their issues. "The season would not have made it over," Bethenny said, adding that it was actually reading Carole's blogs on Bravotv.com and hearing Carole's friend criticize her in her Instagram Story that really signified the end of their friendship to her.

But once Carole heard what Bethenny said about her in her confessional interviews during the season, she said she was done with their friendship. "The season made it over for me, Bethenny," Carole said. "I didn't understand either until I watched the show, and I realized I was really, really trying to salvage our friendship, and you didn't seem that interested."

Bethenny later told Carole that she thinks she's changed, to which Carole, replied, "You've changed too. You've become catty and gossipy, and I didn't change. Yes, my eyes are open."

Though Andy Cohen has seen countless Real Housewives friendships come to an end, this one seemed to especially sting for the RHONY reunion host. "I'm sorry to see this one go because it was fun seeing you two together," he shared during the reunion.

Dorinda Medley, for one, still has hope that Bethenny and Carole can one day resolve their issues and get back on track. "Don't say it's done. Put a comma on it," she said. "Things change. I'm gonna make up with Luann [de Lesseps] eventually, so there you go."

Carole revealed that she wishes things had gone differently with Bethenny this season at the end of the reunion. "My regret was that Bethenny and I could never get to a place. I thought maybe by the end of the season, we would be speaking and then reconnect because that friendship was important to me. And that never happened," she explained as the ladies shared their biggest regrets of the season. "So when I was sitting watching the show, it just made me sad but also angry. I wish that we had had some kind of conversation so I could have put it into context. It was just hard. I tried. That's my regret, that I failed."
