The Daily Dish Diets

As Bella Hadid Soared to Supermodel Status, This Food Remained the Staple of Her Diet

Bella Hadid stays loyal.

By Tamara Palmer

Bella Hadid maintains her model physique through boxing and cardio sessions that can last two to three hours, especially if she's about to walk a major runway or work on a big photo shoot. But when it comes to food, her approach strays a bit farther from what you might expect for a supermodel. She admitted earlier this year that she was on an indulgent-sounding pizza diet to get ready for the Met Gala, and we know from her Insta that she loves eating pizza on private jets — so, yes, we've registered a pattern. Are you getting the sense that pizza could be kind of a main source of constancy in the famous face's diet?

If so, you'd be right.

"I'm kind of on a pizza diet right now," she told WWD back in 2016, a comment she made when she was still a teen, recently resurfaced by Harper's Bazaar.

After moving to New York City, she started eating a lot of bagels and pasta, too, but she's also been paying attention to making sure she eats enough protein at lunch, such as salmon or chicken to combat her low blood sugar.

"I like having a good protein meal because I get really tired if I eat too much, so I try to fill myself up with things that will make me feel good," she told Bazaar in 2017.

So hey, there's some balance in there!

But pizza remains her go-to — enough so that she's plenty comfortable sending a pizza through security so she doesn't have to part ways from her diet staple. And that's dedication to her one true love.
