There was a time — a darker time — when Gisele Bundchen would drink an entire bottle of wine each day, along with three sugary coffee drinks. But now, the Brazilian supermodel subsists on a far more virtuous daily diet. And now we know just what that diet includes. Hint: It's still a lot of liquids, but of an entirely different kind.
In her new book Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, Gisele breaks down a typical daily regime, including what she eats and drinks. Here's what we learned from an excerpt from the book published by The Daily Mail.
After swishing coconut oil in her mouth for 15 minutes with the hopes of boosting her overall gut health, the model sips a lukewarm glass of water with half a lemon squeezed into it. (As Kourtney Kardashian knows, drinking water with lemon in the morning is said to be an effective way to jump-start your metabolism.)
For breakfast, Gisele will usually have avocado toast, eggs with avocado, cut-up fruit, or gluten-free bread topped with honey and almond butter. Next, it's onto a green juice prepared with ingredients such as celery, cucumbers, apples, turmeric, ginger, and lemon juice.
For lunch, soup and salad are her go-to meals.
"I drink water all day long, as well as lots of tea," Gisele writes. "My favorites are lemongrass, chamomile, and mint, ideally made with fresh chamomile and mint leaves from my own little garden. But it all depends on how I’m feeling. If I’m getting sick, for example, I’ll drink fennel tea, or prepare a honey-lemon-ginger concoction on the stove. Otherwise I always drink my tea straight, without honey or sugar."
Virtuous, yes. But we also know from a past admission that Dunkin' munchkins do occasionally make their cameos on le menu.
