Kylie Jenner Came With the Classic Instagram Clapback to the Egg That Smashed Her Pic's Record
The Kylie Cosmetics mogul is no longer the reigning queen of Instagram.
It's Kylie Jenner versus the egg — and so far, this battle is a draw. If you're a little bit lost, let us dive into the friendly (so far) social media feud that's currently brewing between the reality star and the breakfast staple.
After the Keeping Up With the Kardashians sister broke Instagram records back in February 2018 — posting a photo of her baby daughter's hand that quickly became the most "liked" in history — a simple food dared to take her on. (Or more accurately, a human behind the egg's Instagram profile.)
On January 4, a photo of an egg went up on an Instagram account called Egg Gang, along with the the following challenge: "Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this," the eggy caption read.
So, how'd that go? Well, to date, the egg photo has more than 31 million likes. (Whew — it's even more famous than Al Roker's egg muffins!)
Learning that her record had been beaten (so to speak), Kylie was quick to clap back in the most millennial of all communication methods: using memes, of course. In an Instagram post, she shared one that read: "Kylie when she sees the world record egg account." Cue Kylie sassily breaking an egg.
Your play, egg. Seems like this feud might just be heating up. Or should we say... boiling?
