Melissa Gorga Shared Exactly How to Make Her "Jersey Style" Meat Sauce
"It's so easy," The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member said of her recipe.
Whether she's making pasta during a "Sunday Funday" or "the best pancakes in the world" for a weekend breakfast, it's clear that Melissa Gorga has enviable culinary skills. So when The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member gave a step-by-step guide to making her "easy" sauce recipe, we made sure to take note.
"Making a little meat sauce today," Melissa said in an Instagram Story video. "I just put chopped meat in there first, I also put a little white wine."
After putting onion and garlic in the pot, Melissa was then ready to add canned tomatoes. "I love Redpack," she said. "I always actually use the crushed [tomatoes] and I'll add in one [tomato] puree just to thicken it up a little bit."
In her video, Melissa also showed the pasta she would be using for the meal, Colavita's large rigatoni.
For the final steps, "Parsley and basil both go in, mix it up in there," Melissa explained. "It's so easy...the last thing you add: salt and just a little oregano."
After bringing the sauce "to a little bit of a boil," Melissa said, "cover it, put it on low for like a half hour."
As she showed off the finished product, she described the sauce in a caption as "Jersey Style."
Last year, Joe Gorga raved about Melissa's cooking when she made him pasta in a homemade sauce. Showing off the meal in an Instagram photo at the time, Joe wrote: "My wifey does it all."
