Leah McSweeney's New Tattoo Is a Tribute to Her Late Grandmother Marie
The Real Housewives of New York City businesswoman honored her late grandmother Marie with a sweet, tiny tattoo.
Leah McSweeney is celebrating the life of her late grandmother in a stylish and touching way — with a new tiny tattoo. The Real Housewives of New York City designer shared the sad news of her grandmother Marie's passing in an Instagram post on October 27 and, now, she has a sweet reminder of the woman who she called her "Queen" and "an anchor."
On November 12, Leah posted a casual shot of her right hand with her brand new tiny tattoo that simply reads "Marie" in elegant handwriting. The petite tattoo is nestled in between two previous tatts on Leah's hand just below her thumb. The touching tribute is for her grandmother Marie who Leah lovingly described in a previous post.
"My Queen. You understood me in a way that most of the adults in my life never could. You were an open book of wisdom who didn’t hold back when sharing your experiences and feelings," Leah wrote alongside a series of family pictures throughout the years. "You were an anchor for the entire family no matter how rough the sea. You loved each of your 14 grandkids unconditionally the way only a grandmother could."
Leah has also spoken about her grandmother's impressive expertise when it came to all things pop culture, "Your knowledge of pop culture always impressed me. And when you asked me 'what’s the tea?' I would always spill it."
"Thank you for being the matriarch to our family. We will celebrate you forever but make no mistake there is a gaping hole that will be impossible to fill in every one of our hearts. I miss you so much grandma."
